Windward Chess News: Windward Chess Club is on the move for (7 weeks and will be meeting at Times Coffee Shop- TCS starting Wednesday's Nov 23). The new Kailua Chess Group is growing with 16 young members and growing so join us on Mondays. Reminder of US STATE CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS tournament playoff between Cornelius Rubsamen vs Chet Gionson held at Mililani Chess Club, rec #6, keep reading for more details!

Update I: Cornelius Rubsamen won last night's match with Chet Gionson 3 -1 to win the right to represent Hawaii! Game 1 was won by Cornelius using the Petrov opening, Game 2 was won by Cornelius using the Tromposki opening, Chet answered back with a win in the Game 3 with the Vienna opening, and Game 4 was won by Cornelius with the French Terrach exchange varition. But Chet did not make it easy after getting ahead in material, Cornelius made it diffcult to end the game and Chet ran out of time to win the match! Also like to remind everyone that Windward Chess Club - WCC had its last meeting for 2005 at Windward Mall last night. WCC meetings will continue at Times Coffee Shop across Kam Hwy at the corner in front of Safeway. It a very nice large meeting room. From Nov 23, 2005 to Jan 4, 2006 we will have our meetings there. TCS has an excellent menu and easy-going atmosphere for playing chess and maybe go if your interested. So checkout Windward Chess Club holiday hang-out and see what it is like to meet in a carpeted Quiet room where you can think about the game your playing and not put up with Mall noise! Lessons will continue and Go players are invited to join us. The TCS management is very happy to have us there. Just a reminder not bring outside food to the meeting room. Waitress service is available and your welcome to purchase anything on their menu and enjoy while playing!

Also as reminder for those who can't make the Wednesday Night chess meetings, we are also meeting at Kailua District Park on Mondays from 3:30pm to 5:00pm in the mutli-purpose room. We have 14 young players learning and playing chess and grownups & scholastic players are welcome to join us. We have 30 minutes of lessons and then have been playing skittles, using chess clocks

Update: HFCA A Team won the round robin with 15 points, Assets came in second with 10 1/2 points and HFCA B Team came in 3rd with 2 1/2. We will have rematch early next year!

Winner to represent Hawaii in the US State Champion of Champions event. The winner will receive for participating in the next event a free year of membership on ICC (Internet Chess Club)
