The Hawaiian Open: A Tournament in the Spirit of Aloha
For the second year in a row I was able to play in the Hawaiian Open chess tournament, held over the Labor Day weekend in the tourist district of Waikiki, in Honolulu, Hawai`i.
If you've read my editorial blog The Bungerting Baloner or my checker webzine The Checker Maven for any length of time, you'll know that Honolulu is our second residence and we spend some amount of time there throughout the year. For the last two years, I've been able to arrange things so that we were there for the tournament.
